I waited around to meet and speak with Rob Delaney after his stand up show at Woodlands Tavern, and I left feeling very excited that I rambled minimally, and was only mildly awkward. He was as hilarious on stage as I knew he would be, and as nice and genuine in person as I had hoped.
We told him that we lived down the street, which was true - it’s a little over a half mile. And when we were leaving, he asked if we were walking home. Without missing a beat, I lied and said, “Yep!”
What a weird lie! Maybe I wanted him to think I was environmentally friendly or physically fit? I have no idea. But it had been raining earlier that day, and it was already past midnight on a school night, so my ass was driving home.
Aside from the random fib, it was a great night.
